It’s not easy to be, the person that they see.

It’s not easy to lie, when the tears are in your eyes.

It’s not easy to live, when you’ve nothing left to give.

It’s not easy to pray, when you look to yesterday.

It’s not easy to smile, when you’ve been hurting a while.

It’s not easy to decide, whatever’s wrong or right.

It’s not easy to rest, when you don’t feel your best.

It’s not easy to dream, when you wake up with a scream.

It’s not easy to tell a truth I know so well.

I will never be the person that they see.

 I’m hurting. I’m just a burden— useful for nothing. Everyone can see it. Placated, elated— but I can never be free. It’s frustrating, the words that never come. It’s heart-breaking.
